Dr. Sage Davis | Cass County
Dr. Sage Davis is an Anishinaabe designer, researcher, and community organizer, and a member of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe in northern Minnesota. Her work bridges research and practice through the design of clothes, spaces, and events that strengthen community connection.
She holds a PhD in Design from the University of MN - Twin Cities, as well as a Masters of Education, and a Bachelor of Arts in communication, media & rhetoric. Her research focuses on apparel studies; product development, behavioral aspects of dress, and the history & culture of dress.
Sage manages the blues-rock band Corey Medina & Brothers and collaborating with her mother to produce Native Nations Fashion Night. She enjoys sewing apparel and hopes to explore interior textiles next.
As an Anishinaabe designer and organizer, she is dedicated to strengthening the regional arts ecosystem: expanding access, stewarding resources wisely, and building bridges between artists, audiences, and funders.
